Mom Loved Recieving Flowers

She loved getting flowers, she liked Roses, but flowers in general, every spring we planted new types in her yard. She loved houseplants, and always had alot of them, and they would be so beautiful. She always had a garden, and when she couldn't tend one for herself any more, we still had to at least plant her tomatoes, she loved them, and could eat alot of them. Come fall it would be oranges. The lilac trees she had Dad and I plant for her did nothing until she died, and they bloomed out with leaves and all this summer, they are so pretty. I hope she sees them from heaven!

Mom fought Diabetis For Years

Our Grandmother had been Diabetic, and our mom for many years, as her brothers and sister. Basically her whole family. Last week I also was told I am now a diabetic. Mother controlled hers for years by diet only, but as she became sicker it grew worse and she soon was having to give herself injections of insulin. One of her stays in the hopital, the ER doctor tested her blood sugar, it was 666 and threw her into Renal Failure (shut down of the kidneys). Of course we teased her later when she was home about the devil being in her! Anyone needing help with diabetis, mother would teach them, show them how to check their blood sugar and she shared alot of recipies for sugar free food.

Our Mother's Big Wonderful Heart

Our Mom had an Enlarged Heart called Cardiomyopathy. Also CHF Congestive Heart Failure. She had a heart attack in May of 2003, she coded twice and was shocked back with paddles before they could inplant a Devipulator, pace maker. When her heart rate would slow to far or stop it would shock the heart back to beating. The doctor told us it probably would only buy her a couple of years, but her strong will gave her 4 and half. Mom would be hospitalized at least twice or more a year with the CHF and pneumonia we knew eventually she wouldn't be able to fight them and we would lose her. Several times she fought and several times she won, but each one was leaving it's toll and she became weaker with no full recoveries.

Not Another Problem

A Few years before our grandmother passed away, we were told she had Parkinson's Disease. Then a couple years ago our mom was also diagnoised with the same Disease. The doctor told us then that it runs in the family and the odds of one of her children or more will also have it, and so on. Her right arm and hand would shake so bad we had to feed her, and help her drink fluids. She had so much against her that her doctors were amazed each time they released her from the hospital after one of her battles. Her will to live was very strong. We all would sigh a sigh of relief after she'd make it through another one, but again we knew even her will was getting tired.

She hated Violence

Mom always tried to help any cause for Domestic Violence. We all knew why, as she had been it's victim through two marriages. Mom always worried that her sons might grow into violent men and their wives become victims, she always told them, if you ever abuse your wife, you have me to answer too! The memories of her abuse lays still fresh in my mind today, I can't tell you the relief when she met and Married Roy. And her life of violence was finally over.

Mom had dreams for all of us, including her Granchildren, She never lived long enough to see many of these dreams come true. But we know she's watching over us, and some have gotten to be with her in their dreams. Thats Momma, always making sure. She was a Great Force in our family, and is greatly missed by all of us. She was Our Mother, Our Mentor, Our life and Love.

A Mother's Love

Mom, As soft as a brush of an angel's wings,as sweet as an angel's song, as warm as the heart of a faithful friend and just as caring and strong,as nurturing and life giving as the mighty rivers that flow,These are the ways of a Mother's love that bless her children so. She is a true Angel.

This sweet Poem was sent to me by VM's Angel Dennis Auman Jr's, Grandmother, thank you Margie, this means so much to us.......

The Music playing is music we grew up to. Mom loved her music and you could find her doing her house work singing and dancing around the house! Every song has a special memory to it! Some I haven't found yet but will add as I do.
